    2 c. vanilla soy milk
    8 whole cloves
    6 whole peppercorns, crushed
    2 cinnamon sticks
    1 star anise
    1 tsp. ground turmeric
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee 100% pure maple syrup
    2 Hy-Vee chai tea bags, divided
    Hy-Vee ground cinnamon, for garnish

    Directions

    1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together soy milk, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, star anise, turmeric, and maple syrup. Bring mixture to a simmer. Once simmering, turn off heat and allow spices to steep for 5 minutes.

    2. Strain out spices, using a fine-mesh strainer, into a blender. Blend, on high speed, or until frothy. Divide mixture between two 12-oz. mugs. Serve golden milk with chai tea bag and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, if desired. Allow chai tea bags to steep at least 5 minutes before serving.
